About The Dog Guy
Our K-9 Instructor, The Dog Guy aka Mr. Aidon Lippstreu
Aidon has been involved in the training of dogs since 1993 and assisting others with their furry loved ones since late 1996.
His first doggie love was Kola (b. 1992), a very lively and excitable German Shepherd Dog bitch.
Aidon went onto to become a Schutzhund/ IPO training enthusiast & was an active member of the Sardinia Bay GSD Training Group, Algoa Bay GSD Club & Friendly City GSD Clubs, all of which were affiliated to the German Shepherd Dog Federation of S.A.
He has also run his own dog training academies, currently the Sards K9 Training Academy since 1996.
IPO (previously known as Schutzhund meaning Protection Dog) comprises of three (3) disciplines namely tracking, obedience (which incorporates basic agility & jumping) as well as protection work.
Aidon has also completed various courses, workshops, unit standards & qualifications in dog behaviour and K9 instruction and qualified as a Private Security Industry (PSIRA) Level 5 Dog & Dog Handler and K9 Instructor in Patrol & Substance Detection.
He further qualified as a SASSETA Assessor EDTP Moderator & Facilitator (Trainer) in the care of service dogs, kennel supervision, handling of service dogs to deter crime, patrol & apprehension of suspects, substance detection dogs and tracker dogs too.
Having met and married his wife, Cardel, almost 20 years ago now, they moved into the management of the Sardinia Bay Kennels together.
Three kids, 8 dogs, 2 horses, some donkey squatters, goats, sheep, hamsters and the occasional fish later, you will find The Dog Guy right here in the Sards Valley on the Cardonhof Farm.
